Recreational
Designed for: Fire Roads, Rail Trails, Bike Paths
It's Sunday afternoon and you feel like a bike ride. You're
not planning on tackling Everest, but you like the mountain
bike look. Check out our recreational mountain bikes. They
generally utilize a heavier steel frame and components that
aren't intended for serious off-road use. But they're a
great way to get a good bike without spending a lot of money.
Cross Country Hardtail
Designed for: Trails, Singletrack, Racing
We call 'em hardtails because they feature front-fork suspensions
but keep the traditional solid frame in back. Their lighter
frames and upgraded components make them quick, nimble,
and perfectly suited for fast mountain climbs.
Cross Country Full Suspension
Designed for: Trails, Singletrack, Racing
These bikes are shock absorbers on wheels. Full suspension
bikes take bumps in stride and take the edge off rough rides.
They don't offer the speed of hardtails, but your rear might
thank you after the ride.
Downhill/Long Travel
Designed for: Aggressive Downhill, Free Riding,
Adventure
These bikes are meant to take anything you can dish out.
Their super
heavy-duty frames might slow you down on the uphill climb,
but nothing's going to stop you on the way down.
